Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes — a valid Texas fishing license is required for anyone 17 years and older. You must have your license with you so we can properly tag any oversized Redfish or Trout. If you plan to keep more than one oversized Redfish, be sure to purchase a BONUS Red Drum Tag when getting your license. Children 16 and under do not need a standard fishing license; however, they do need a Red Drum Tag and an Oversized Trout Tag (also known as a child’s tag) if they plan to keep any oversized fish.

What fish can we expect to catch?

During your trip, you can expect to catch Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Flounder. Depending on the time of year and water conditions, other species such as Sheepshead or Gulf Kingfish may also be caught. Captain Seth will focus on the most active species for the season to give you the best opportunity for a successful day on the water.

How do I reserve a trip?

Go to our Pricing & Booking page to view available trips. Choose “Read More” to learn about a trip or click “Request to Book.” You’ll then select your date, time, and group size on the booking calendar. After filling out the form with your info, we’ll send an invoice for the $150 deposit to confirm your trip.

How do I pay my balance?

After you book one of our service options, we’ll send an invoice for the required $150 non-refundable deposit to secure your trip date. The remaining balance is due at the end of your trip when you return to the dock. We accept cash, Venmo, CashApp, and Square for payments. Please note that credit or debit card payments made through Square will include taxes, while cash is preferred.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to be flexible. No refunds – Deposits are non-refundable, but you may reschedule your trip. Rescheduling – You may reschedule up to 14 days before your trip and transfer your deposit to your new date. Late changes – Cancellations or reschedules made within 14 days of your trip will require a new deposit. Guest count changes – Please let us know at least 7 days in advance if your group size changes. Example: If you book for 4 guests but only 2 attend without notice, the 4-person rate still applies. Thank you for understanding — these policies help us provide the best possible experience for all our guests.

What happens if it rains?

Trips are only rescheduled for high winds or when there’s a 90% or higher chance of thunderstorms — at the Captain’s discretion. We’ll notify you 12–24 hours before your scheduled trip if a reschedule is necessary. Please note: Deposits are non-refundable, but we will allow one rescheduled trip, and your deposit will be applied to the new date.

Can we keep the fish we catch?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to keep your catch or release it — no judgment either way. Captain Seth will provide up to 40 pounds of fish cleaning at no extra cost for groups of 3+ guests. If your catch exceeds that, additional cleaning will be your responsibility. Groups under 3 guests are liable for their own fish cleaning. There is a fish cleaning service offered at Clem's Marina that will be separate from Fowlmouth Outdoors.

Do we need to bring our own fishing equipment?

Nope — we’ve got you covered! All rods, reels, bait, and lures are provided for your trip. Please note: If the Captain provides specific instructions about handling the equipment, it’s important to follow them. Any damage caused by misuse will result in a $200 charge for a rod and $175 for a reel. We take pride in keeping our gear in top condition and appreciate your care and respect for it.

Can we bring alcohol?

Beer is allowed onboard, but absolutely no hard liquor. We’re here to have a great time, catch fish, and keep everyone safe — please drink responsibly.

What can we bring?

You’re welcome to bring a small soft-sided cooler (such as a Yeti) with drinks and snacks. Please also bring sunscreen, a hat, and polarized sunglasses for protection and visibility on the water. For safety and space reasons, no coolers over 25 quarts are allowed — the boat has limited room for storage.
